Holy Men help After Leaving Physical Body

Holy Men Help Spiritual Aspirants Even After Leaving Physical Body.

Swami Brahmananda [a direct disciple of Sri Ramakrishna] during his stay at Lake Kusum, had the habit of rising at midnight and spending the rest of the night in meditation. One night, however, he felt tired and overslept his usual hour of rising. Some one gave him a push and aroused him. At first he thought that this must be Swami Turiyananda [a brother disciple]. Then he saw a luminous figure, in the dress of a Vaishnava saint, standing beside him and counting his beads. After this, the figure appeared almost every night, at midnight, and joined him in his meditation. In describing this incident to his disciples, Maharaj once remarked:

"Many holy men, after leaving the physical body, live in subtle spiritual bodies, and help earnest religious aspirants in different ways."

-Spiritual Teaching of Swami Brahmananda

Godhead has many spiritual forms

Swami Brahmananda [a direct disciple of Sri Ramakrishna] whenever entered any shrine he would be filled with ecstatic devotion for the particular aspect of God to which that temple was dedicated. And ultimately he would have direct vision of the living deity within the temple. In later years, when Maharaj was asked by a disciple if the gods and goddess are real, he answered:

"The one Godhead has many spiritual forms. All these forms are real. A seer can see them and talk to them."

The soul loves to meditate

The soul loves to meditate, for in contact with the Spirit lies its greatest joy. If, then you experience mental resistance during meditation, remember that reluctance to meditate comes from the ego, it doesn't belong to the soul.

Servant of the Divine Mother

Narendra did not believe in God with form, so at first he rejected Kali. Regarding this concept, he struggled for several years with his guru Sri Ramakrishna. But the Master told him: “You will be a servant of the Divine Mother”. And finally, he dedicated Narendra to Mother Kali. One day many years later, Vivekananda discussed this with his Irish disciple, Sister Nivedita. She asked: “In the future, you say, many will call Ramakrishna Paramahamsa an Incarnation of Kali?” Swamiji replied: “Yes, I think there’s no doubt that She worked up the body of Ramakrishna for Her own ends”.

One midnight in Dakshineswar the Master was walking in an ecstatic mood. As Golap-ma watched him, she saw Kali walking in his place. She was overwhelmed and it gave her goose bumps.

Once Swami Brahmananda described the following incident:

“I was then living on Baranasi Ghosh Street in Calcutta and visiting the Master regularly. One day I went to Dakshineswar in the early afternoon. The Kali temple was closed and the Master was resting after lunch. As soon as I entered his room, he asked me to sit on his bed. He talked for a while and then asked me to massage his feet. I replied: “Sir, excuse me. I can’t do that. You were telling me wonderful stories; please continue”. Regardless, he asked again: “Look, give me a little massage. You will benefit by serving a holy man”. After he had asked me to do this two or three times, I finally touched his feet. Suddenly something miraculous happened that left me dumbfounded. I saw with my open eyes that Mother Kali quickly entered the room in the form of a young girl, seven or eight years old. She encircled the Master’s bed a few times, Her anklets making jingling sounds. Then She merged into the Master’s body. The Master smiled a little and then said: “You see, you have instantly received the result of serving a holy man”. …

When Sri Ramakrishna was gravely ill at the Cossipore garden house, the Holy Mother was stricken with grief. One day, in a vision, a girl with long black hair and a dark complexion appeared and sat near her. Realizing that it was Mother Kali, she exclaimed: “Oh, you have come!”
Mother Kali: “Yes, I have come from Dakshineswar”.
After further conversation, the Holy Mother observed that the girl bent her neck to one side. She asked: “What has happened to your neck”.
Mother Kali: “Well, I have a sore throat”.
The Holy Mother: “My goodness! The Master has a sore throat and you also have it?”
Mother Kali: “That is true”.
Thus, the Holy Mother was made to understand that the Divine Mother and Sri Ramakrishna were one and the same.
When Sri Ramakrishna passed away, the Holy Mother cried out, saying: “0 Mother Kali, where have you gone, leaving us behind?”

Japa leads to perfection

Maa Sayings...

Disciple: Mother, why is it that my mind does not become steady? When I try to think of God,  I find it drawn to various worldly objects.

Mother: It is harmful if the mind is drawn to worldly objects like money and members of one's family. Nonetheless, the mind naturally dwells on one's daily activities. If you don't succeed in meditation, practise Japa. Japa leads to perfection. One attains perfection through Japa. If a meditative mood sets in well and good. If not, don't force your mind to meditate.

Jai Maa...

What does “choose one’s family” mean?

Question : What does “choose one’s family” mean?

Mother's Answer : You have come into the world in a certain milieu, among certain people. When you are quite young, but for a few rare exceptions, what surrounds you seems altogether natural to you, because you are born in its midst and are quite used to it.

But when, a little later, a spiritual aspiration wakes up in you, you may quite possibly feel yourself completely ill at ease in the environment where you have lived, if, for instance, the people who have brought you up don’t have the same aspiration or if their ideas are the very opposite of what is developing in you. Instead of saying, “You see, I belong to this family, what shall I do? I have a mother, a father, brothers, sisters...”, you can set out in search (I don’t mean necessarily travel), set out in search of spirits who have an affinity with yours, people who have a similar aspiration and, if you have the sincere aspiration to find those who like you are in quest of something, you will always have the occasion to meet them in one way or another, through quite unexpected circumstances; and when you have found one or more people who are in exactly the same state of mind and have the same aspiration, quite naturally there will be created bonds of closeness, intimacy, friendship and, among you, you will form a kind of brotherhood, that is to say, a true family.
You are together because you are close to one another, you are together because you have the same aspiration, you are together because you want to create the same goal in life; you understand one another when you speak, you have no need to discuss anything which is said and you live in a kind of inner harmony. This is the true family, this is the family of aspiration, the family of spiritual inclinations.

To love God

"To love God and live in the company of the devotees:  that is all.  What more is there?"  "When Krishna went to Mathura, Yasoda came to Radha, who was absorbed in meditation. Afterwards Radha said to Yasoda:  'I am Primordial Energy. Ask a boon of Me.'  'What other boon shall I ask of You?' said Yasoda.  'Only bless me that I may serve God with my body, mind and tongue; that I may behold His devotees with these eyes, that I may meditate on Him with this mind, and that I may chant His name and glories with this tongue."

DIVINE MOTHER ON KALI

DIVINE MOTHER ON KALI
Behind all destructions, whether the immense destructions of
Nature, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, cyclones, floods, etc., or the violent human destructions, wars, revolutions, revolts, find the power of Kali, who is working in the earth-atmosphere to hasten the progress of transformation.

All that is not only divine in essence but also divine in realisation is by its very nature above these destructions and cannot be touched by them. Thus the extent of the disaster gives the measure of the imperfection.

The true way of preventing the repetition of these destructions
is to learn their lesson and make the necessary progress.

Of all the aspects of the Mother, Kali most powerfully expresses vibrant and active love, and despite her sometimes terrible aspect, she carries in herself the golden splendour of an all-powerful love.

Occult Powers

OCCULT POWERS ARE MORE A HINDRANCE THAN A HELP TO GOD-VISION

ONCE upon a time a sadhu acquired great occult powers. He was vain about them. But he was a good man and had some austerities to his credit. One day the Lord, disguised as a holy man, came to him and said, "Revered sir, I have heard that you have great occult powers." The sadhu received the Lord cordially and offered him a seat. Just then an elephant passed by. The Lord, in the disguise of the holy man, said to the sadhu, "Revered sir, can you kill this elephant if you like?" The sadhu said, "Yes, it is possible." So saying he took a pinch of dust, muttered some mantras over it, and threw it at the elephant. The beast struggled a while in pain and then dropped dead. The Lord said: "What power you have! You have killed the elephant!" The sadhu laughed. Again the Lord spoke: "Now, can you revive the elephant?" "That too is possible," replied the sadhu. He threw another pinch of charmed dust at the beast. The elephant writhed about a little and came back to life. Then the Lord said: "Wonderful is your power. But may
I ask you one thing? You have killed the elephant and you have revived it. But what has that done for you? Do you feel uplifted by it? Has it enabled you to realize God?" Saying this, the Lord vanished.

Subtle are the ways of Dharma. One cannot realize God. if one has even the least trace of desire. A thread cannot pass through the eye of a needle if it has the smallest fibre sticking out.

The Mother on Money

🌸 The Mother on money

Money belongs to the one who spends it; that is an absolute law. You may pile up money, but it doesn’t belong to you until you spend it. Then you have the merit, the glory, the joy, the pleasure of spending it!

Money is meant to circulate. What should remain constant is the progressive movement of an increase in the earth’s production – an ever-expanding progressive movement to increase the earth’s production and improve existence on earth. It is the material improvement of terrestrial life and the growth of the earth’s production that must go on expanding, enlarging, and not this silly paper or this inert metal that is amassed and lifeless.

Money is not meant to generate money; money should generate an increase in production, an improvement in the conditions of life and a progress in human consciousness. This is its true use. What I call an improvement in consciousness, a progress in consciousness, is everything that education in all its forms can provide – not as it’s generally understood, but as we understand it here: education in art, education in … from the education of the body, from the most material progress, to the spiritual education and progress through yoga; the whole spectrum, everything that leads humanity towards its future realization. Money should serve to augment that and to augment the material base for the earth’s progress, the best use of what the earth can give – its intelligent utilization, not the utilization that wastes and loses energies. The use that allows energies to be replenished.

In the universe there is an inexhaustible source of energy that asks only to be replenished; if you know how to go about it, it is replenished. Instead of draining life and the energies of our earth and making of it something parched and inert, we must know the practical exercise for replenishing the energy constantly. And these are not just words; I know how it’s to be done, and science is in the process of thoroughly finding out – it has found out most admirably. But instead of using it to satisfy human passions, instead of using what science has found so that men may destroy each other more effectively than they are presently doing, it must be used to enrich the earth: to enrich the earth, to make the earth richer and richer, more active, generous, productive and to make all life grow towards its maximum efficiency. This is the true use of money. And if it’s not used like that, it’s a vice – a ‘short circuit’ and a vice.

But how many people know how to use it in this way? Very few, which is why they have to be taught. What I call ‘teach’ is to show, to give the example. We want to be the example of true living in the world. It’s a challenge I am placing before the whole financial world: I am telling them that they are in the process of withering and ruining the earth with their idiotic system; and with even less than they are now spending for useless things – merely for inflating something that has no inherent life, that should be only an instrument at the service of life, that has no reality in itself, that is only a means and not an end (they make an end of something that is only a means) – well then, instead of making of it an end, they should make it the means. With what they have at their disposal they could … oh, transform the earth so quickly! Transform it, put it into contact, truly into contact, with the supramental forces that would make life bountiful and, indeed, constantly renewed – instead of becoming withered, stagnant, shriveled up: a future moon. A dead moon.

We are told that in a few millions or billions of years, the earth will become some kind of moon. The movement should be the opposite: the earth should become more and more a resplendent sun, but a sun of life. Not a sun that burns, but a sun that illumines – a radiant glory.

Why Divine Mother is superior ?

💧💦💧💦💧💦💧💦💧💦💧

Inner Calmness

God made us in His image. The way to remember the image of God within us is to retain the state of perfect inner calmness. He who is calm is fit for the kingdom of God. His mind is always still, never restless.

Every human being is seeking bliss

"Every human being is seeking bliss. It is the only goal of life. And that is what God is— ever-existing, ever-new, ever-conscious bliss. It is also the nature of the soul. You may say that man seeks many different things. But from all of them, from the fulfillment of his search, he hopes for just one experience: joy, or bliss. If he seeks love, it is not because he wants sorrow; he wants to experience the joy of being loved. If he seeks wisdom, it is not because he wants limitation; he wants the intoxicating joy that comes from being all-knowing. Why does man seek gold? Gold, or money, in itself has no meaning. Man seeks it for the joy of fulfillment that comes with having everything he wants. When he seeks fame, it is for the joy of feeling, “I am all powerful,” or “I am eternal.” In his every search the ultimate goal of man is bliss".

People without Guru don't get Gathi

Q: Gurudev It is said that you meet your Guru first after death and one who does not have a Guru will not get mukti.

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Yes. This is a belief. Guru is one who has his reach in both worlds. In this world and the other world. One will be called as Guru only when he has his reach in the world here and world after. So those who have a Guru are like special guests.

Like When a special guest comes for a function, gets special treatment, when those who have a Guru leaves this world, are taken care in the other worlds as well. In these worlds, there are devathas who take care of the souls that arrive. Since these devathas are worshipper of Guru Principles, they value the person who has a Guru and escort them there. These devathas have their own Gathi, thats why they say that people without Guru doesn't get Gathi.

The way a child before it is born lives in its mother's womb for 9 months, similarly after death the soul remain in pret yoni for 9 days and after that they become pitru. This rule doesn't apply to saints. This is ancient science. Our ancestors were so intelligent that they designed the rituals based on all these facts and knowledge.

Mother Durga Comes to Belur Math

Mother Durga  Comes to Belur Math:

The Ramakrishna monastery was moved from Nilambar's  house to Belur Math on 2 January 1899.

In 1901, a few days before Durga Puja, Swamiji (Swami Vivekananda)  was coming from Calcutta to Belur Math by boat when he had a vision of a luminous form of Mother Durga in the Math.  When the boat landed, he told Brahmananda about his vision and asked him to arrange the worship with an image. Brahmananda told Swamiji of a similar vision. "I was seated on this bench watching the Ganges,"  he said. "I saw Mother Durga come from Dakshineswar over the Ganges and reach that bel tree." Swamiji was excited. Fortunately an image was available in Kumartuli and it was brought to Belur Math on 17 October 1901.

On 18 October Holy Mother and her attendants came to attend Durga Puja and stayed at Nilambar's house. Brahmachari Krishnalal was the worshipper,  and  Ishwara Chandra Chakrabarty was the prompter of the mantras. According to Swamiji's direction the worship was performed in the name of Holy Mother,  who offered 25 rupees to Ishwara Chakrabarty as dakshina,  a gift for performing the worship. Swamijj also invited brahmin pandits from neighbouring Belur,  Bali, and Uttarpara to attend the worship.  They came and partook of the prasad and cleared uptheir misunderstandings about Belur Math.

On 21 October after the vesper service Swamijj sang some devotional songs that the Master used to sing, thus entertaining Holy Mother and others gathered there. When the immersion ceremony was held on 22 October,  Swami Brahmananda danced on the boat in ecstasy.

Shiva into jiva

"Truly speaking it is not you who call Him, but He who calls you. Just as in the hushed silence of night the sound of distant temple bells and conches can be clearly heard, even so, when through intense and undivided devotion to Him the hunger of the senses is stilled, His call will find response from your inmost depths and reverberate through your whole being. Then and then only will true prayer spontaneously flow from your heart. This divine call is bound to come to everyone for Shiva, the Eternal Spirit, has resolved Himself into jivas, sentient beings, and every creature has to become recovered again into Shiva. Just as water freezes into ice, and ice melts into water, so this play of transformation of Shiva into jiva and jiva into Shiva goes on and on through eternity."
